My Passions – All Things Vintage

My Passions

Amy BarickmanSome of my earliest memories were of going to antique shops and flea markets with my mom. She collected dolls (and gathered one of the largest collections in the Midwest) so it was always fun for me to tag along. As I got older, I found myself drawn to anything to do with vintage crafts and home life.

After many years of collecting, I realized that I amassed a huge collection of vintage artwork, publications and textiles that illustrated the domestic and creative life of previous generations of women.  At the same time, I imagined what crafters could accomplish with the help of emerging technology. I knew that others would want to share in my treasure trove. In 2002, I founded my second company, The Vintage Workshop, to create products that allow crafters online access to beautiful vintage artwork.

As it approaches its second decade, my staff at The Vintage Workshop and I thought that it was time to refocus and redesign the company to meet the needs of today’s artists and crafters. In the very near future (we’re working on it now), both our loyal and new customers will find that it is easier – and less expensive – to download images from our new website. In addition, we are planning to showcase the artwork of artists and designers who have been inspired by the past and we will also begin selling individual items from my own personal collection, some one-of-a-kind. Keep your eyes open at thevintageworkshop.com, there’s fantastic changes underway.

And of course, I will continue to share my vintage finds, ideas and new projects with you on my blog.
