DIY Quilted Heart Ornaments!
Hi everyone! Tis the season for festive DIYs and today I am sharing a FREE Quilted Heart Ornament PDF Pattern that I know will get you in the holiday mood. These are really easy to make and you can make them in any cotton fabrics you have on hand. I am using my Treasured Threadz fabrics and my Favorite Fusible Stabilizer, but feel free to mix and match to your heart’s desire! The fabric pictured above is my Treasured Threadz Postage Stamp Retro panel, a shortcut to a charming pieced look.
These ornaments are such a HEARTfelt way to gift a loved one, decorate a package or add to your own Christmas tree. We will create them using techniques from my signature Decorative Patch Applique method – all the instructions can be found on the PDF download – but if you need more help, watch this video tutorial to preview the process.
I love seeing fabrics come to life as special projects – like this ornament. Once you cut out your paper heart, use the heart-shaped opening to find your best heart design!

There are so many ways to embellish these hearts. Think about mixing and matching your fabrics (vintage ticking makes a perfect companion to all the Treasured Threadz fabric designs!), adding a border of vintage rick-rack or with stitching – and of course, adding buttons is always my favorite!
