I told you earlier this year about my adventures in Hamilton with Missouri Star Quilt Co. – what I didn’t mention was that I was featured in an article in their fall Block Magazine! I had been up to Missouri Star a few times to film videos – including this new one with Rob Appell of Man Sewing where we make a recycled messenger tote out of deconstructed denim jeans. I had the best time filming with Rob, he made the process so fun and I love that he is urging men to take up sewing. The project we made is from my book, Denim Redesign, which features 20 projects made from recycled jeans. Watch the video here!
Because denim is a substrate that few people have worked with, they asked me to write an article for Jenny’s Classroom column in Block. I wrote about my inspiration for creating Crossroads, and how to work with it in sewing projects. Keep an eye out for my upcoming video with Jenny where we make a Crossroads quilt.
