While preparing for Christmas, I came across a series called the Needle-Minded New Yorker written by my muse Mary Brooks Picken in Home Arts Needlecraft. Mary, of course, has some great ideas for those hard-to-buy-for family members including baby and Grandma and Grandpa. Well, maybe not so great. I have never thought about cross-stitching a portrait of my family as a gift, although it could be cute. Also, I don’t think that my husband would really appreciate the gift of silk shoe bags – however I do remember that both of my Grandpas always wore “flannelette” nightgowns to bed! What is on your handmade gift list this year?
