I know I am not the only one who will be spending a lot of time in the kitchen over the next few months. Although I will often whip up nightly dinners without an apron, when I start baking or cooking large meals (like Thanksgiving dinner) I need to protect my clothes from my mess. There is something about putting on the “uniform” of an apron that really gets me in the cooking mood – and of course, I love all the different styles.
Throughout the years I have collected many vintage aprons that I used as inspiration for Indygo Junction patterns. I have put together a video “look book” for you to see some of my favorite apron styles and patterns throughout the years.
Not hosting Thanksgiving this year? Make an apron to present to your hostess as a gift. He or she would surely appreciate the gesture when juggling the turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce! We also make child sizes of most of our aprons: a matching mother/daughter apron would be a great gift -you can even make a matching apron for your favorite doll using our Dressed Alike Apron!
