I’ve been collecting vintage textiles and fabrics for as long as I can remember. As a child, I watched my mother collect antique quilts as well as fabric scraps to use for her handmade doll clothing business. This fascination with vintage textiles that I shared with her has blossomed over the years I’ll be honest into a down right addiction and I am grateful that that my businesses can support this home arts habit of mine!
Tablecloths have been around for quite a long time (the Victorians were infamous for using tablecloths to hide the indecency of exposed table legs!), but tablecloths particularly from the 1930s – 1950s seem to have garnered a special appreciation among collectors. Bright florals, whimsical prints, and pretty patterns are all characteristic of these decades, and appeal to my vintage eye!
Out of love for these pieces of kitchen decor past, Indygo Junction came out with several versions of aprons made from repurposed vintage tablecloths: Binding Time Apron and Bon Appetit Apron. And if you like what you see in these aprons, then you’re in luck because I’ve got a chance for you to win not only both of these great patterns, but also two super cute reproduction tablecloths (packaged in wonderful little bags with rick rack trim and a button closure) from one of my favorite fabric distributors United Notions/Moda.
That’s right, it’s giveaway time!
If you want to be included in the giveaway for a chance to win two patterns and two tablecloths, leave a comment on this post telling me how you plan on using the tablecloths if you win them. If you would use them as tablecloths, let us know any creative tips you have for dressing your table…OR if you plan to dress yourself (or do something else creative) with them, let’s hear your plans!
You have until midnight next Thursday (September 8th) to leave your comment, and I’ll announce the randomly chosen winner on Friday!
Good luck!
