This book has been years in the making—a patchwork of inspiration pulled from vintage dolls, heartfelt connections, and the joy of creating handmade gifts. Inside, you’ll find charming characters paired with vintage patchwork that speaks to the nostalgia and beauty of handcrafting with love.

We’re officially in prelaunch mode which means I’ll be sharing behind-the-scenes peeks, character introductions, and chances for you to get involved—whether you’re a maker, shop owner, or simply someone who adores all things handmade and heartfelt.

Let me introduce you to Sunshine Polly, the bright and cheerful “baseball-head” cloth doll who brings a bit of vintage charm and a whole lot of heart to Love You to Pieces. Her round head is made using the classic baseball-style construction—a time-honored technique that uses curved fabric panels stitched together to form a head.

This wasn’t just about play—it was about making do and making it meaningful. These dolls were stitched by hand and became cherished companions during difficult times.

Polly carries on that legacy with hand-stitched eyes, a sweet embroidered smile, and button-jointed limbs that give her a classic, posable form. She’s more than just a character in the story—she’s a doll you can make yourself! Her full sewing pattern is included in the book’s online bonus content, along with Yo-Yo the Clown and Sock Monkey, which you can access through a special QR code inside.
