Quilt Market in Kansas City-Yahoo!!!

WOW! What a wonderful weekend Indygo Junction had at the International Quilt Market in Kansas City. My staff and I are still buzzing about the weekend we all shared, celebrating the love of sewing with so many long-time retailers, vendors, and fresh new creative participants!

This year, the Indygo Junction booth showcased our 20+ new patterns focused on kids clothes, recycled and fabric purses, hats, and aprons, as well as holiday craft ideas. We also previewed our new book, Indygo Junction’s Fabric Flowers and two fabric lines we have licensed with Red Rooster Fabrics. We were thrilled that the show attendance was strong, and we loved hearing the reactions from our retailers about our new patterns and ideas. We were pleased with the enthusiastic response and appreciate their feedback and support.

Quilt Market Camaraderie
I have the privilege of knowing so many of the vendors with whom I have collaborated through the years. We could not make our Indygo Junction patterns come alive without the incredible fabrics that continue to excite us each season.  I also love the trends that we see that continue to excite the experienced and the new generation of sewing and quilting enthusiasts alike. Here are some highlights from the show:

  • Beautiful solid colors

  • Contemporary quilts in asymmetrical patterns
  • Ongoing traditional, beautifully crafted quilts
  • A younger generation excited to sew and quilt
  • Applique and embroidery designs
  • International enthusiasm and participation

As we disassembled the booth on the last day of the show, I felt a sigh of relief after six months of preparation culminated in a successful show and I looked forward to a hot bath and a good nights sleep! However, I was also full of excitement as I recalled the energy of the show and the participants. I am as passionate about sewing today as I was when I entered the pattern business over 20 years ago and the show reinforced my enthusiasm once again. Thanks to my team who I could not have done the show without and thanks to all of you for keeping the sewing business so fun!

Here are some of my snapshots from the weekend:
